Aston Martin DBS Volante
The 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante is a legend, a myth, a beau ideal with its 6.0-liter V-12 engine, 510 hp and 420 pound-feet of torque. And it could be yours — if you have roughly $300,000 to spare.

2010 Buick LaCrosse

2010 Buick LaCrosse
Buick’s 2010 LaCrosse — a near-luxury, mid-size-to-large sedan — was built to put the cross-hairs on a single bogie, the Lexus ES350, and I’ll tell you right now, it blows the Lexus out of the sky. Pow. Parachute. Smoking crater.
Born in a blizzard of pink slips and a tsunami of tears, the LaCrosse — the first new car launched by GM since it emerged from bankruptcy — has to be more than on par with some middling Lexus. It has to be fantastic.

If you’re planning a big tailgate party, you’d better have a big tailgate, and the full-size Ford F-150 offers that and more. The interior of the pickup can be outfitted with limousine-like amenities, while the rear truck bed can accommodate a virtual restaurant worth of tailgating equipment. And don’t forget the tailgate itself — it features a step and a handle to allow you to climb into the bed easily to fetch that massive cooler or gas grill.

Ever spill a load of potato salad or baked beans on the way to the game? If you’d been driving a Honda Element, you could have easily wiped the whole mess out of its water- and scratch-resistant interior when you returned home. Contributing to the Element’s mobile party cred are a clamshell tailgate that provides extra seating and shade, a center console with removable cooler and flat-folding rear seats that let you lie down after a party that goes into overtime.

2009 Dodge Caliber
September 20th, 20092009 Dodge Caliber

With optional speakers that flip down from the rear hatch, the Dodge Caliber stands out as one of the few cars designed specifically with tailgating in mind. Add to that a newly improved interior and better fuel economy for the 2010 model year, and the Dodge Caliber proves a good choice for tailgaters on a budget.
